What happens when the 14 days end?

You pick a plan, or you stop. If you stop, nothing you entered is deleted or hidden — it stays readable and exportable to CSV. What you lose is the ability to add new units, not access to your own records.

Do I need a card to start?

Accepted Answer

No. The trial needs an email address and nothing else. You are never charged automatically at the end of it — if you do nothing, the account simply stops accepting new units.

How long does setup actually take?

About twenty minutes for four or five properties, entered once. The slow part is finding last year's expenses, not the software — and you can add those gradually rather than all at once.

Can I import from a spreadsheet?

Not yet. Properties, units and tenancies are entered by hand, which for the portfolios this is built for is a single evening. A CSV import is worth building when someone arrives with thirty units, and not before.

What counts as a unit?

A separately let space. Three apartments in one building are three units. A single house let to one household is one unit. Empty and family-use properties count too, because they still hold records, documents and costs.

Why is Pro twenty euros more?

Every software feature is on both plans. Pro adds two things that are our time rather than code: we find you a tradesperson by hand, and you get a direct line to the founder instead of a form. Above five units the admin stops being occasional, and Pro is where we do part of it for you.

Is annual cheaper?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a year costs ten months, so two months are free. It is also the way most owners think about this expense, because the moment it earns its keep is February.

Can I change plan or cancel later?

Any time, in two clicks from Settings. Upgrades take effect immediately; cancellations run to the end of the period you have paid for, and then the account behaves exactly like an expired trial — readable, exportable, no new units.

Do you take a percentage of my rent?

Accepted Answer

No. Rent is collected however you collect it today and none of it passes through us.

How much tax do I pay on rental income in Cyprus?

Accepted Answer

Three separate charges can land on rent: income tax on what is left after deductions, plus GESY, and — depending on the year and your domicile — the Special Defence Contribution. Rent is also taxed on top of your other income rather than on its own, so the same rent costs a pensioner and a full-time salary earner very different amounts. Our calculator works it out per tax year; confirm the figures with your accountant.

Can Stegi file my tax return?

No, and it does not give tax advice. It keeps income and costs per property through the year and produces a CSV your accountant can work from. The guides explain what to record and why; the rates and the filing are theirs.

What about the properties I don't rent out?

They belong here too. Mark each one let, empty, family use or short-let, and the tax report shows what the ones earning nothing still cost you in insurance, common expenses and standing charges over the year. That figure appears in no income report anywhere, which is why most owners have never seen it.

What can I claim against rental income?

Accepted Answer

Broadly: costs that keep the property as it was, loan interest, and capital allowances — not improvements, and not your own time. The distinction that matters most is attribution: a cost recorded against the wrong property is wrong in two directions at once. The deductible-expenses guide covers this properly.

Do my tenants need an account?

Accepted Answer

No, and this is deliberate. Each unit has a private link you send once by WhatsApp or email. They see what is due and what is paid, report repairs with photos, and message you — with no app, no signup and no password to forget.

What happens when a tenant moves out?

One click issues a new link for the unit and the old one stops working immediately, so a former tenant cannot see the next one's rent.

Do reminders go out in the tenant's language?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The whole platform and every email work in Greek, English, Russian and Hebrew, including right-to-left. Your Russian tenant gets the reminder in Russian.

Where is my data held?

Accepted Answer

In the EU, encrypted in transit and at rest, with every account isolated at the database level. You can export everything as JSON or delete the account outright from Settings, whenever you want, without asking us.

What happens if Stegi shuts down?

Accepted Answer

You take your records with you. The export is always available and is not gated behind a plan — the point of keeping records is that they outlive whoever helped you keep them.

Do you use tracking cookies?

Accepted Answer

No. Only a login cookie and one that remembers your language. Page views are counted without cookies and without building a profile of you, which is why there is no consent banner in your way.
